    Interdisciplinary Programs

The Machine Learning (MLRN) Ph.D. is an interdisciplinary doctoral program spanning three colleges (Computing, Engineering, Sciences). Students are admitted through a participating home school:

    • Aerospace Engineering (Engineering)
    • Biomedical Engineering (Engineering)
    • Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (Engineering)
    • Computational Science and Engineering (Computing)
    • Computer Science (Computing)
    • Electrical and Computer Engineering (Engineering)
    • Industrial Systems Engineering (Engineering)
    • Interactive Computing (Computing)
    • Mathematics (Sciences)

Admission to the MLRN PhD program is contingent on meeting the requirement for admission into one of these schools. It is possible that, due to space or other constraints, that you are admitted to the general PhD program in your home school but not the MLRN PhD program.

The MLRN PhD program is a cohesive, interdisciplinary course of study subject to a unique set of curriculum requirements; see the MLRN program webpage for more information.
